Alyssa Martinson
Hello, my name is Alyssa Martinson. I have been serving as your Vice-President Internal this year and now I am running for President. My experience on the Executive Board and General Council the year before gave me opportunities working with students, staff, faculty, and alumni at King’s, and to contribute to decisions impacting students. If elected, I would continue serving students with focus on community, sustainable progress, communication, and student spaces. Clubs, events, and the communal atmosphere of King’s is part of who we are, so if elected, I will continue working hard to ensure TKUSA student fees are responsibly invested in your interests. As VP Internal I helped develop policies and improve our digital transparency on social media, so I would continue working for sustainable progress within TKUSA to benefit students for years to come. I have and will prioritize communication between TKUSA’s Executive Board, students, and King’s governing bodies; in January I organized a Town Hall for students with PrezMel so you could hear about Kings’ Strategic Plan and ask questions, then I wrote a Chronicle article so those unable to attend could read about it. Finally, to focus on student spaces such as the upcoming Centre for Excellence in the Sciences and the Level, I want to use your feedback and results from student research to inform my advocacy. It has been an honour to serve you as VP Internal, and I would love to continue as TKUSA’s President.
